We had the pleasure of participating in the symposium of the SusSeal4H2 project organized by Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung on the topic of hydrogen applications.
🌍The goal of this multinational and interdisciplinary project was to evaluate the performance of alternative polymer sealing materials—materials with a significantly lower overall CO₂ footprint—under a range of static and dynamic conditions in both cryogenic and high‑pressure hydrogen environments.
📊Our contribution to the research project was the creation of life cycle assessments for the developed materials. In Johannes Brauns presentation, we described the methodological approach, as well as outlooks on the application of LCA at the product and research levels.
🤝 Many thanks to the organizers, project partners BAM, Kyushu University, Freudenberg Technology Innovation and NOK Corporation and all participants.
